VIRTUAL PROGRAM 2
Allowed to birth: the Journey of a Global Midwife
Director/Producer: Jacinta Lagos
Documentary Feature, 1:07 min.
Birth is in crisis around the world. The way people are born is one third of the time via major surgery. Babies and mothers are being mistreated in the name of standard of care and hospital policies.
In this film, we talk about this problematic, while showing the alternative through the life and work of Kristine Lauria, a renowned midwife who dedicated her life to normalizing birth as a natural, physiological process.
