One Town At A Time
Producer/Director/Writer: Roxana Walker-Canton
documentary, 65 min.
One Town At A Time is a documentary for our time. In an era of political unrest and economic insecurity, Americans question American cultural and socio-political identity. Filmmaker Roxana Walker-Canton connects present political and economic struggles to a long history of African American protest against racial discrimination and disenfranchisement. One Town At A Time uses one small New England town’s struggles to change local politics to show the power of local organizing and the power of the ballot. If you want change in your community, you have to have a stake in the game.
